FREQUENTLY ASKED
Good to know.
Everything people ask before booking a session.
How do I book a session?
Send us a message via the contact form or directly by email/phone. We'll align on vision and date, then send a quote and plan. The date is held with a 30% deposit.
How long does delivery take?
Short sessions ship within 7 working days. Wedding and brand campaigns: 6 weeks (1-week express available). A highlights gallery (10–15 frames) goes out within 72 hours after the event.
Do you travel outside Burgas / Bulgaria?
Yes. We've shot weddings and campaigns in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Austria and Switzerland. Travel and lodging are added on top of the package and are planned in advance.
What rights do I get to the photos?
Private clients get full personal-use rights including social media. For brands and agencies we issue a dedicated license (12 mo, 24 mo or perpetual) sized to the campaign scope.
Do you have backup gear and a second shooter?
Always — two camera bodies, dual card backup, two flash kits. For Studio and Cinematic wedding packages a second photographer is included.
Can we choose the editing style?
Yes. Before the shoot we share moodboards and references. Choose a warmer editorial look, a clean modern one, or a matte filmic finish. The final set includes one round of revisions.
Do you work with architects and designers?
It's a big part of our practice — portfolios, listings and architectural magazine features. We're experienced with tilt-shift and continuous lighting for interiors.
What if it rains on the session day?
We always have a Plan B for outdoor sessions — covered locations, light setups that recreate a studio look on location, and rescheduling at no extra cost with 24-hour notice.
How much does a wedding photographer in Burgas cost?
Wedding packages at TSARKOV STUDIO in Burgas start at €1500 for half-day coverage and go up to €4500 for a full documentary package with second shooter, drone and highlights video. All packages include post-production, an online gallery and a USB archive. See full pricing in the Pricing section.
How many hours does a wedding shoot last?
A standard wedding package in Burgas covers 8 to 12 hours — from morning bride preparation to the first hour of the evening party. The Cinematic package is a full day (up to 14 hours) and includes a second shooter. Exact hours are agreed at booking based on your schedule.
Do you shoot weddings in Nesebar, Sozopol and Pomorie?
Yes, the entire Bulgarian South coast is in our service area with no extra travel fees — Nesebar, Sveti Vlas, Sunny Beach, Sozopol, Pomorie, Aheloy, Ravda. For locations over 100 km from Burgas (Varna, Sofia) a small travel fee applies.
Do you have a drone operator license?
Yes. Licensed EU UAV operator for the Open category (A1/A3) and Specific (PDRA-S01). We only fly in permitted zones, and where needed submit a flight authorisation to the Bulgarian CAA. Aircraft: DJI Mavic 4 and DJI Avata 360 FPV.
Do you shoot interiors for Airbnb and Booking listings?
Yes — it's one of our main services. Interior packages start at €400 and include 20–35 edited frames optimised for Airbnb / Booking / Vrbo (16:9 landscape for the cover slot). Drone exterior is +€150. Files delivered within 5 working days.
Can we choose the frames for final retouching?
For portrait and fashion sessions — yes. After the shoot you get proxies (low-res selects) and pick the 30–50 frames for full retouching. For wedding days we curate the selection, because 600+ frames will overwhelm you; if you'd rather pick yourself, we schedule an extra consultation day.
Do you offer video alongside the wedding package?
Yes. We shoot with a Sony FX3 cinema camera and offer two formats: a 60–90 sec Instagram reel (included in Studio+ packages) and a 4–7 min documentary highlights film with music (Cinematic package). Final files are delivered in 4K plus web-optimised versions.
Do you cover Sozopol, Nesebar and Pomorie without travel fee?
Yes. The entire Bulgarian Black Sea coast within 100 km of Burgas is included with no travel surcharge — Sozopol, Nesebar, Sveti Vlas, Sunny Beach, Pomorie, Aheloy, Ravda, Chernomorets, Dyuni, Kavatsi. Beyond 100 km (Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna) — a small fuel fee plus lodging if needed.
Do I need a drone permit for my wedding in Bulgaria?
Not you — I handle the licenses and permits. I hold EU UAV Open A1/A3 + Specific PDRA-S01 and registration with the Bulgarian Civil Aviation Authority. For restricted zones (national parks, military sites, city centers) I file permits 14 days in advance. We don't fly over crowds without municipal + organiser approval.
Can my wedding be in Old Nesebar (UNESCO zone)?
Yes. I shoot regularly in Old Nesebar — UNESCO status doesn't restrict wedding photography, only commercial work and drone flights over the protected zone. I hold municipal permits. Venues like Royal Castle, Marina Royal Palace, Sol Nessebar and Helena Sands have pre-arrangements for couple sessions in the historic zones.
What happens if it rains on the wedding day?
Rain doesn't cancel the wedding — nor the photos. We carry clear umbrellas (not coloured — those cast colour on faces), backup body protectors for the cameras, backlit setups to render raindrops in frame. Rainy weddings often produce the most emotional images. Drone does not fly in rain — a switching plan is set in advance.
Do you carry backup equipment?
Yes. Every wedding: 2 bodies (Sony A7R V + Sony FX3), at least 3 of the 4 GM lenses, 6 batteries (3 fully charged spares), 4 SD cards (UHS-II V90), 2 drones (Mavic 4 + Avata 360). If one body fails — we continue without interruption. Without backup I have no business shooting your day.
What if you fall ill on the wedding day?
I keep a network of 5 vetted wedding photographers across Bulgaria with mutual backup arrangements. If I fall ill last-minute — a stand-in arrives within 3 hours at the same or better level (all have 10+ years experience). The pre-contract transfers automatically. This hasn't happened in 8 years, but the protocol exists.
Who works as the second photographer?
Second photographer is optional (€600 add-on). I work with three vetted second shooters: all with at least 7 years of wedding experience, all owning their own professional gear (Sony or Canon equivalent), all aligned with my editorial style. They introduce themselves to you on a discovery call before the booking — they don't show up as a surprise on the wedding day.
How are photos delivered — USB, cloud or print?
Standard: online gallery (Pixieset or our own server) with full-file download access. Wedding · Story and Wedding · Film packages include a USB in a wooden box (offline backup, gift-ready). Print is not offered by default — we recommend a partner lab (CEWE, Saal Digital) and deliver files in the correct colour profiles (sRGB for web, AdobeRGB for print).
Is there a difference between personal and commercial license?
Yes. Wedding and portrait clients get full personal + social-media license (Instagram, Facebook, personal site, prints for home, frames for parents). Brand or business usage (hotel marketing, real estate site, billboard, festival cover) requires a separate commercial license — 12 months, 24 months or perpetual. The price scales with scope.
How many frames are cut and why?
On a full wedding day I shoot 3000–4000 frames. You receive 600+ (Story) or 1000+ (Film) final. Cut: closed eyes, motion blur, burst-mode duplicates, exposure tests, frames where the moment didn't crystallise. Never cut because "I don't like that person" — selection is at the frame level, not the person level.
What happens to my photo rights if we divorce?
The license remains valid for both individuals separately — it is not revoked or restricted. Both keep the right to use the photos for personal and social use for life. Copyright stays with me (always), but your usage rights are permanent. This is a standard ЗАПСП-compliant clause in the contract.
Do you offer photo and video as a combo?
I shoot both personally, but not at the same event — I don't believe one person can deliver best-of-class photo AND video in one day. For weddings: the Wedding · Film package includes a highlights video cut (5–7 min) shot by me on the FX3 in idle moments. For full cinematic video — we partner with a dedicated cinematographer (Eros Cinema or Vision Films) who handles video only. It's a separate service, not an add-on.
How far in advance can I book?
Minimum: 4 weeks before the date (constrained by other commitments + recce time for new locations). Recommended: 6 months for May–September, 2–3 months off-season, 9–12 months for destination weddings. Last-minute booking (< 4 weeks) is possible only if I have a free slot — about 5–10% of inquiries land there.
