What a wedding photographer costs in Bulgaria 2026

When a couple asks me "what does a wedding photographer cost in Bulgaria," I always answer with a question of my own: "how many hours of coverage do you want?" That variable shapes everything else — the number of final frames, whether the drone makes sense, whether a second photographer is necessary, whether the album gets added or not.

This piece is a direct look at the actual 2026 market based on my own work in Burgas and publicly available pricing from studios in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. No marketing flannel.

A night frame with sparklers and controlled flash — the technical skill you're actually paying for.

Junior tier (€300–€700): a photographer under three years of experience, usually freelancing as a second shooter for a larger studio. Coverage 4–6 hours, delivery 100–200 frames. Risk: thin experience under the pressure of a wedding day; post-production is often preset-only without a cinematic grade.

Mid-tier studio (€800–€1400): an established photographer or small team. Coverage 8–12 hours, 300–500 frames. Album is usually an add-on (€300–€600). Drone is outsourced or skipped. Delivery 6–8 weeks.

Premium / Boutique (€1500–€3000): one photographer for the full day, or an associated studio. Up to 16 hours, 600+ final frames, drone included or well integrated, post-production in a signature style. Delivery 6 weeks. Commercial licence available for brand work.

Destination / International (€3000+): Bulgarian photographers travelling to Italy, Greece or Austria, or international photographers coming into Bulgaria. The price covers travel and two days of recce on location.

What an offer above €1000 should ALWAYS include: a signed contract from both sides before deposit, a deposit cap of 50% (anything higher is a red flag), an explicit final delivery date, a personal-use and social-media licence without an extra Instagram surcharge, one contact channel, and online galleries instead of physical disks.

The details — shoes, rings, light — the coverage you later see in the album.

What NOT to expect: "unlimited revisions" (no professional photographer works that way), same-day previews (real previews take 7–14 days), a "free engagement session" used as a marketing hook, prices below €500 for a full day (junior or hidden add-ons).

My 2026 packages: Wedding · Frames (from €1450) — up to 6 hours, 300+ frames, 6-week delivery. Wedding · Story (from €2800) — up to 10 hours, 600+ frames, highlights film, USB and keepsake box. Wedding · Film (from €4900) — full day, 1000+ frames, 5–7-minute short film, drone in suitable conditions.
